Toi Kupu | a Tangata Whenua and Tangata o le Moana celebration of spoken word

2-3pm

event Details

Kia ara te ua. Keep your head up. Be proud! Takatāpui and MVPFAFF poets celebrate community, language and agency through the power of spoken word.

After the success of the first Auckland Pride Poetry Slam in 2023, we are back again to satisfy your poetry needs.

This year we’re celebrating the immense talent of Tangata Whenua and Tangata o le Moana wordsmiths!

This event is free to all and promises to be an afternoon of lyrical magic! Arrive early to crochet your own Pride flag to wave in support of the poets. Queer Yarns will be on the Mezzanine level from 11am. All materials provided – just come along.

We are proud to be hosting this as part of the 2024 Auckland Pride Festival. See the full programme at aucklandpride.org.nz

Many thanks to the Pride & Spark Empowerment Initiative for their contribution to this event possible.
