Experience the joy of creativity and art making in the Creative Learning Centre. A family-friendly space with fun, hands-on activities, the Creative Learning Centre encourages tamariki (children) and whānau (family) to engage with art and develop their own creative voice. Located on the mezzanine level, the space is open daily 10am–5pm and is free to visit.
The Creative Learning Centre has been home to many different interactive projects. The current project is ArtLab, an interactive making space that encourages tamariki and whānau to experiment with different materials and ideas. Have fun unleashing your creativity at one of the making tables, dazzling the room with a lightbox creation, and projecting your artwork onto a wall using an overhead projector!
The current theme of ArtLab is Light and Shadows – visit the Creative Learning Centre to experience the magic of bending and bouncing shining rays, imagine stories in shadows, and see the world around you in a new light
