Members Offers

In April 2016 our Membership Programme saw the light. Built on the legacy of the Friends of the Gallery (founded in 1954), we have been able to grow our community of arts lovers from 1,000 Friends in 2015 to over 7,500 Gallery Members today. Hooray!

To celebrate this milestone, we are hosting our first Members Festival and some other special events. We have seven special Members offers throughout the month of April and gifts for those joining membership or signing up for Members Plus during this period. Gilt Brasserie: Receive complimentary glasses of champagne for you and one guest when you enjoy Gilt’s Saturday Menu Du Jour in April. Saturday Menu Du Jour is a $65 three-course set menu inspired by French classics, reimagined with the Gilt touch: elegant, satisfying and with endless pommes frites.

Additional Ts&Cs: Champagne is served on arrival when dining on the Saturday Menu Du Jour. Guests must be 18 years or over to receive alcohol (ID required). The Terrace: In April, Gallery Members enjoy 10% off beverages and 20% off food at The Terrace located at the Aotea Centre.

The Terrace offers warm hospitality and a taste of the Aotea Arts Quarter’s creative energy. While you visit, make sure to pop into the centre to admire their impressive art collection.

Aotearoa Art Fair: The Aotearoa Art Fair is just around the corner and Gallery Members bring a friend for free. From 30 April until 3 May, 60 leading galleries present bold, beautiful and unexpected works at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre. Whether you’re here to discover new artists or to add to your collection, the Fair is a great art day out.

Current art magazine: Current is where the conversations shaping contemporary art in Aotearoa and the wider Pacific are happening first. Published independently, this new magazine brings you inside artists’ studios, emerging practices, and the ideas driving the region forward — offering a level of access and depth rarely found in mainstream coverage.

Auckland Art Gallery Shop: We are doubling your Gallery Shop discount during our Members Festival on 18 and 19 April – on those two days, you enjoy 20% off all products (excludes sales and promotions).

Have you been eyeing a beautiful piece of jewellery, can you fit another art book on your coffee table, or are you looking for some New Zealand-made gifts? This is your chance!

Auckland Art Gallery Café: Enjoy a birthday coffee and sweet treat combo with 20% off in the Gallery café.

In April, grab a delicious muffin, chocolate-filled brownie or caramel slice with any regular size coffee and we double your Member discount. Why not stay for lunch or a glass of wine? The café is open daily until 4pm.

To mark membership’s 10th birthday, we have created a limited-edition “For the love of art” tote bag, featuring an original drawing by our graphic designer. The bag comes in red, yellow and pink and will be included in new Members welcome packs in April*.

This is a welcome gift for new Gallery Members only, meaning you must not have been a Gallery Member in the 12 months prior to purchasing a membership to receive this gift.

Members Plus is a wonderfully easy way to support the Gallery’s aim to create world-class art experiences for everyone, right here in Aotearoa. Join before 1 June and get a Gallery art print of your choice.* If your membership expires before 13 June, you can upgrade to Plus when you renew your membership online. If your membership expires later and you would like to upgrade before 1 June, please get in touch. This offer is available for Plus gift purchases as well.

*When you have purchased a Plus membership, our team will contact you via email within five working days to organise the art print. You can choose a print from our online shop (stock availability dependent; offer excludes the Zena Elliott lithograph). Prints can be couriered or picked up from the front desk when our team has notified you it’s ready. Note that the print will be unframed.
