exhibition Details
Nine Lives focuses on nine leading New Zealand artists, tracking across many of the significant developments in contemporary New Zealand art in last 20 years. They include L Budd et al, Julian Dashper, Jacqueline Fraser, Bill Hammond, Michael Parekowhai, Peter Peryer, John Reynolds and Michael Stevenson currently exhibiting at the Venice Biennale.
The ninth artist is the late Giovanni Intra. Intra was well known as an art critic but a mini-retrospective of his work, included in Nine Lives, demonstrates his cutting-edge work as an artist. A special exhibition-within-the-exhibition will be the highlight of this show.
