exhibition Details
Moenga Roa (eternal sleep) is an installation, which explores the relationship between Māori and Pakeha identity and considers biculturalism.
The installation comprises a moulded plastic bed, a pillow and a sheet that as domestic tools and symbols could be considered to explore and expose views on biculturalism, Māori and Pakeha identity and race. With this in mind, the allegorical and theoretical significance afforded a bed; sheet and pillow can not be underestimated.
