Love Zinefest but find the crowds a little overwhelming? We get it.
This year we are running a relaxed hour for Auckland Zinefest from 10:00am to 11:00am on both days of the market weekend. This is outside of the promoted Zinefest market-day hours. Stallholders will be set up ready for you to enjoy and purchase zines when the Gallery opens at 10am.
We welcome you to visit during this time if you need a more relaxed sensory experience.
If you aren’t able to attend during the relaxed hour, there are a few spaces in the Gallery where you can go for a break from the crowds when you need one. Head to the East Terrace on Level 2 (wheelchair access), where you can make yourself a badge and soak in the views of the adjacent Albert Park. Alternatively, you could exit the café and go to the amphitheatre by the steps leading up to Albert Park (no wheelchair access). Both these places connect to the outside environment and have either partial or full shelter. There may be other visitors also using the space, but it will be less crowded.
This Zinefest map below shows you where the stalls, toilets and lifts are in the Gallery so you can plan your visit. If you’re looking for a particular stall, please use the printed programme or head to the Auckland Zinefest information, merch and badge-making table and they will help you from there. Alternatively, check out the Auckland Zinefest Facebook, Instagram or website for stallholder details closer to the time.
