Yarn Floozy
Based in the wild ngahere (forest) of Waitākere, Catrien Kilpatrick aka Yarn Floozy spins luxurious yarns from natural fibres such as silk, merino and cashmere. Her latest collaboration with Toi o Tāmaki features hand-dyed silk and mohair skeins inspired by the subtle, lustrous hues of Impressionist artwork in A Century of Modern Art. From the vibrant sunset tones of Paul Signac’s Grand Canal (Venise), 1905 to deep greens referencing Monet’s Water Lilies, 1922 - create your own personal masterpiece this winter with Kilpatrick gorgeously soft yarn.
Choose your yarn from one of the inspirational artworks in A Century of Modern Art:
- Yarn Floozy Skein Morisot (Berthe Morisot, In the Garden at Maurecourt, 1884. Purchased with funds from the Libbey Endowment, Gift of Edward Drummond Libbey)
- Yarn Floozy Skein Monet (Claude Monet, Water Lilies, about 1922. Purchased with funds from the Libbey Endowment, Gift of Edward Drummond Libbey)
- Yarn Floozy Skein Signac (Paul Signac, Entrance to the Grand Canal, Venice, 1905. Purchased with funds from the Libbey Endowment, Gift of Edward Drummond Libbey)
- Yarn Floozy Skein Picasso (Pablo Picasso, Woman in a Black Hat, 1909. Purchased with funds from the Libbey Endowment, Gift of Edward Drummond Libbey, and with funds from the Florence Scott Libbey Bequest in Memory of her Father, Maurice A Scott)
