About the performers
Balamohan Shingade is a contemporary art curator and the Assistant Director of ST PAUL St Gallery, Auckland University of Technology. He is a Masters graduate of Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland, and also holds a Diploma in Indian classical music, and regularly coordinates concerts in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Basant Madhur is a widely acknowledged tabla player and a much-respected artiste in the arena of Indian classical music. Madhur moved to New Zealand in 2002 and established the Sargam School of Indian Music. By 2006, he had trained more than 300 students.
