Event Details

Te Rā Ringa Raupā present their remarkable project to recreate the oldest known Māori sail of its era – known as Te Rā. This unique taonga currently resides at the British Museum in London.

This group of kairaranga (weavers), mentored by Dr Maureen Lander, is skilled in the woven techniques of Te Rā. 

Hear their story illustrated with images and woven tauira (samples).
