Join us for a series of film screenings about the fascinating fashion industry introduced by fashion expert Angela Lassig, who puts modern-day haute couture and street apparel into historic perspective.
Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons left the Christian Dior fashion house unexpectedly in 2015, but Dior and I (2014) gives you a privileged, behind-the-scenes look at the creation of his first haute couture collection as Dior’s artistic director – a true labour of love by a dedicated group of collaborators. This documentary by Frédéric Tcheng is a colourful homage to the iconic French couture house, to Simons' work, and to the seamstresses who help realise his vision.
'As carefully crafted as the clothes is Tcheng’s well-considered direction, privileging the creative process over stereotyped glamour or backstabbing' – Variety
