Please note: This event is now sold out

Follow in the footsteps of Danish designers, and create a contemporary wooden coat hook at community workshop The Warren. Before you step behind the workbench, Assistant Curator, Emma Jameson will give an introduction on Scandinavian design vernacular, and furniture designer Nathan Goldsworthy will show us around his studio

About The Warren

Community workshop The Warren. grew out of founder Tim Boyd’s desire to offer Aucklanders a welcoming space in the city to learn new making skills. Tim, a registered plumber, had become increasingly frustrated with the wasted potential he saw in discarded building materials in overflowing skip bins. This passion for transforming and finding new value in used materials, along with an enthusiasm for pairing keen learners with people who have skills to share, is the foundation of The Warren.

The Warren offers classes enabling people to learn how to build things themselves, along with drop-in sessions where people can use the workshop independently.

About Goldsworthy Studio

Goldsworthy Studio produces distinctive furniture pieces designed by Nathan Goldsworthy and manufactured exclusively by New Zealand manufacturers. Nathan's work is known for elegant silhouettes and subtle, refined detailing. The forms often express a narrative derived from the human experience and our relationship with the natural world, drawing on cultural archetypes and mathematical principles in a quest to discover that which is novel and beautiful.
