Pride Celebrations 2020

1.30–3.30pm

event Details

To celebrate Auckland Pride, enjoy the stunning voices of the Gay and Lesbian Singers (GALS) when they return to perform as part of the Gallery’s Pride Celebrations for 2020. Then look at art from diverse perspectives on our LGBTTQI-insight tour of the Gallery’s historical art collection. Presented by our curator, Ron Brownson, gallerist Michael Lett, with Heather Straka and Cameron Ah-Loo Matamua. More names to be announced.

LGBTTQI stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Takatāpuhi, Transgender, Queer or Questioning and Intersex and signals the many different perspectives we bring to our encounters with art. This tour introduces the past from contemporary perspectives of gender, sexuality and representation and celebrates diversity.
