Join a group of renowned New Zealand photographers for a discussion about Mark Adams’ photography, currently exhibited in Mark Adams: A Survey | He Kohinga Whakaahua and profiled in the library display Mark Adams: Real Pictures.
Panel chair Edith Amituanai will lead a kōrero with Conor Clarke, Chris Corson-Scott and Haru Sameshima as they discuss specific works from the exhibition and the influence of Mark Adams’ work on their creative practice and on New Zealand photography.

Edith Amituanai – Chair
Edith Amituanai is a New Zealand-born Samoan lens-based artist in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Her work explores how environments shape identity, focusing on Samoan transnational communities. Notable projects include the series Déjeuner, capturing Samoan rugby players in Europe, and La Fine Del Mondo, documenting Chin refugees in Auckland. Committed to community, she leads workshops, teaches, and undertakes residencies like Keep on Kimi Ora. In 2019, she held her first major survey exhibition and was appointed to the New Zealand Order of Merit. Recent exhibitions include the Hawai‘i Triennial 2025 and Toloa Tales at Pātaka Art + Museum.
