Whakanuia a Matariki me ō hoa, tō whānau i te Toi o Tāmaki. I tēnei kaupapa utukore, haere ki te hoko kai, toro atu ki te mākete, ā, tuku i ngā tamariki kia whakaritea ngā mahi toi e hāngai ana ki a Matariki. Mātakitaki i te kaikanikani rongonui, a Taane Mete (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Korokī Kahukura), i tāna whakaari i waihanga motuhake nei mō Matariki, arā, ko Marae in the Sky.  

Whakarongo ki te kaiwhiwhi Grammy, ki a Jerome Kavanagh (Ngāti Maniapoto - Matakore, Mōkai Pātea, Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Rangi - Awa Whanganui, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Caomhánach), e whakaatu ana i te kohinga taonga puoro o tōna whānau, e 50 neke atu te rahi o ngā taonga. Ko Power to the Puoro te whakaaturanga. 

Kia mōhio mai, he mōrahi tāngata e taea ana i ētahi o ngā kaupapa.   

Ko ngā huinga katoa, he mea kuhu noa. 

He mea tautoko a Marae in the Sky nā Stout Trust. 

Celebrate Matariki with friends and whānau at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. At this free event, purchase kai, shop at te mākete (market), and keep the tamariki busy making craft inspired by Matariki. Join renowned choreographer and dancer Taane Mete (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Korokī Kahukura) for his performance conceived especially for Matariki, Marae in the Sky. Listen to Grammy award winner Jerome Kavanagh (Ngāti Maniapoto – Matakore, Mōkai Pātea, Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Rangi – Awa Whanganui, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Caomhánach) showcase his whānau collection of over 50 taonga puoro in Power to the Puoro.  

Please note some activations will have limited numbers. All sessions are drop-in. 

Marae in the Sky is supported by the Stout Trust and Auckland Council and the city centre targeted rate.
