Do not miss this opportunity to participate in a special workshop with one of New Zealand’s most respected figures in contemporary Māori clay art making, Wi Taepa. Taepa will take you through the process and techniques in how to make an ipu or pinch pot plus a slabbed piece of his kōwhaiwhai design work. Costs includes all materials and morning tea.

This workshop is part of the events programme for the exhibition Wi Taepa: Retrospective, which celebrates the life and work of this senior Māori clay artist.

Workshop details 

The price of the workshop includes all materials (clay, tools) and coffee and tea on arrival. The Non-Members price includes a one-year Auckland Art Gallery membership (value up to $50). 
Note that the clay works will not be fired as part of the workshop.

This event is suitable for everyone from the age of 15.

This workshop has a minimum attendance requirement which, if not met, may cause the workshop to be cancelled. If this is the case, those registered will be fully reimbursed.
