event Details
Bold, provocative and questioning of the status quo, Gilbert & George have been creating pictures since they met in 1967 at St Martin’s School of Art in London. From the very beginning, they became ‘two people but one artist’ and have always declared an ‘ART FOR ALL’.
To celebrate this exhibition, Gilbert & George will be in conversation with Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki’s Senior Curator of New Zealand Art, Ron Brownson, to talk about their partnership and picture-making.
After this conversation there will be a book signing with Gilbert & George of Gilbert & George: The Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Exhibition 2022. Books can be purchased in advance from the Gallery shop.
Please book your place to reserve a seat at the talk. If all seats are full, you will still be able to watch the talk if there is capacity in the space.
