In anticipation of our exhibition Enchanted Worlds: Hokusai, Hiroshige and the Art of Edo Japan, opening Sat 7 Mar, host Samantha Copland will guide you through a full day of fragrance design, inspired by Japanese flavours.
Discover hero botanicals native to Japan, such as yuzu, cherry blossom and hinoki wood in this perfume-making workshop by Perfume Playground. Learn about scent evolution and sillage and craft several unique fragrances and a luxurious body oil, which are yours to take home.
Enchanted Worlds: Hokusai, Hiroshige and the Art of Edo Japan
Through extraordinary painted silk scrolls and folding screens, discover the traditions of Edo Japan (1603-1868). From portrayals of beautiful geisha to images of iconic Mount Fuji, learn how everyday life intertwined with the divine to create a culture of tradition, superstition and poetry.
