Dominican friar, puritan fanatic and moral dictator of the city of Florence during the mid 1490s, Girolamo Savonarola soon created powerful enemies resulting in a rather gruesome death sentence.
Join Dr Mary Barker for an illustrated talk on the painting The Execution of Savonarola and Two Companions at Piazza della Signoria attributed to a Florentine painter in the style of Francesco Rosselli.
Following the talk, join Mary for a viewing of the painting in the exhibition (exhibition entry charge applies).
