Whether you are a complete beginner or have practised calligraphy with a brush pen before, this workshop is the perfect introduction to contemporary pointed-pen calligraphy. Kate Hursthouse will hand you the tools, warm you up with some exercises, and take you through a full introductory alphabet. By the end of the workshop you will have the means and knowledge to practice and develop your own calligraphy style.
Kate Hursthouse is an artist specialising in calligraphy, lettering, illustration and typography. She owns a boutique design studio and has worked for Karen Walker, Lululemon and others.
Workshop details
The price of the workshop includes all materials and coffee and tea on arrival. The Non-Members price includes a one-year Auckland Art Gallery membership (value up to $50).
This workshop has a minimum attendance requirement which, if not met, may cause the workshop to be cancelled. If this is the case, those registered will be fully reimbursed.
