The latest recipient of the New Zealand Institute of Architects’ Gold Medal, Stuart Gardyne, will presents an after hours talk at the Gallery about his work.

Stuart, a director of Wellington practice architecture+, was awarded the Gold Medal – the Institute of Architects’ premier individual honour – for an outstanding body of work including the conversion of Wellington Public Library in City Gallery, and the later extension of the Gallery.

Other significant design projects undertaken by Stuart include Te Wharewaka o Pōneke-Te Raukura on the Wellington waterfront, Spark Central, Conservation House, PĀTAKA Art + Museum and Hutt City administration building. In his presentation Stuart will also discuss award-winning residential buildings such as Morrison’s Bush Cabin and Ponatahi House.
