Enjoy an after hours talk 'Flawed words and stubborn sounds' by visiting US artist Matt Saunders, who is in the country as international guest and external examiner for the July MFA seminar at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design.

Matt Saunders’ work moves between painting, photography, and short animated films.  His recent solo exhibitions include the Tate Liverpool, Tank (Shanghai), the St. Louis Art Museum and the Renaissance Society (Chicago) as well as gallery exhibitions with Marian Goodman Gallery (New York, London and Paris) and Blum&Poe (Tokyo and Los Angeles).

His work has been seen in group exhibitions at MassMOCA, the Drawing Room (London), the Whitney Museum of American Art (NY), MoMA (NY), the Sharjah Biennial, Deutsche Guggenheim (Berlin), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Adam Art Gallery (Wellington, NZ), among others.  Saunders was the 2015 recipient of the Rappaport Prize from the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum and the 2013 Prix Jean-François Prat. He lives between Berlin, Germany and Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he is Associate Professor of Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University.
