1000 Paper Cranes Challenge

 —  11am–4pm

event Details

Don't miss our 1000 Paper Cranes Challenge taking place in our Gallery Studio from Thursday to Sunday.

This is a drop-in event inspired by themes from our current exhibition Enchanted Worlds: Hokusai, Hiroshige and the Art of Edo Japan.

In Japanese tradition, a Senbazuru is usually gifted to family or friends who may be ill as a symbol of hope and longevity. It has the meaning of healing and is often related to stories where great disasters have happened. We have all been affected by COVID-19, so let's come together to create, connect, reflect and be present as we create the 1000 Paper Cranes installation — a symbol of healing.

We would like to give special acknowledgment to Yuka Masamura for sharing her vision and project with us all.

Please note: There will be limited seats, so there may be a waiting time.
