The recipient for the 2023 Marylyn Mayo Internship was Hannah Owen.

Hannah continued a project begun by 2022 intern Heléna Lunt and conducted a full collection assessment of the Gallery's physical exhibition archives spanning from 1927 to 2018. The project focused on the exhibition histories of Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, specifically correspondence, ephemera and installation images from our first temporary exhibition in 1927. The aim of this undertaking was to create a full listing of the content and to identify exhibition installation photographs for eventual digitisation.

A Gallery Assistant since December 2019, Hannah has worked in many areas of the Gallery, including in the E H McCormick Research Library on Saturdays to assist with artist files, book retrieval, general research and digital archive building.

Hannah holds a Bachelor of Design, majoring in communication design and specialising in graphic design, a Certificate in Photography, and a Graduate Diploma in Art History. Her creative practice is photography, with a focus on analogue and alternative methods. She also enjoys digital photography and editing.
