The Holy Palate: A Theatrical Dining Experience: 19 May 2016

Cuisine by Peter Gordon, Art Direction by Judy Millar, Tim Gruchy Projections and Sound, Ben Hoadley on Bassoon.

The night launched the Auckland Art Gallery Foundation and the inaugural Annual Appeal.  Close to 160 guests attended a unique dining experience in the dress code: formal dada. We shared fine cuisine by Peter Gordon and immersed ourselves in a world Judy Millar's art direction created.

To date the Appeal has raised over $150,000.  We are well on our way to bringing a Judy Millar site-specific commission to the Gallery.

The Concept Model Unveiling: 1 Sep 2016

Art direction by Judy Millar, Colourful Cocktails by Michael Dearth, restaurateur Baduzzi, The Grove, Sound by Samuel Holloway

The Auckland Art Gallery Annual Appeal 2016 will see the acquisition of a major site-specific artwork commissioned from Auckland-/Berlin-based artist Judy Millar for the Gallery’s South Atrium. On 1 September we held a very memorable ‘colourful cocktail’ evening to celebrate and “unveil” the concept model with the artist, and learn more about the Foundation.

An Evening of Art: 17 Nov 2016

Our Foundation Members enjoyed a tour of two new exhibitions at Auckland Art Gallery, led by Director Rhana Devenport and Curator, Māori Art Nigel Borell. In the Members Lounge we all enjoyed the hospitality of our newest Foundation Partners, with special wines from Amisfield and Dawsons chefs created canapes inspired by the two exhibitions. Our guests also departed with a gift from our Foundation Partner Aesop.

Remember to subscribe to the Foundation enewsletter or follow us on Facebook to receive the latest news and updates on our developments and events.
