Richard Killeen

Rain clouds

Artwork Detail

Richard Killeen began making cut-outs in 1978. They released his paintings from the boundaries of a frame and allowed his art to become sculpture and painting at the same time. Rain clouds is an outstanding example of Killeen playing with how we experience scale. While the work is smaller than many of his previous cut-outs, it expresses a multitude of responses about how we relate to clouds. (Local Atlas, 2004)
