Phil Dadson
Artwork Detail
Sound and multimedia artist Phil Dadson is both founder and longest serving member of the experimental music group From Scratch. From Scratch was initiated by Dadson following his return to New Zealand after time spent with the experimental London-based Scratch Orchestra. Rhythm Works was Dadson’s first recorded album, capturing the compositions played in Sydney during the 1979 Biennale. Dadson’s practice ranges across media, in his cover art he draws connections between the poster culture associated with live gigs, the rhythms of performance and the structures of visual art.
