Biography
Rona Ngahuia Osborne was born in Auckland and raised in Hokianga. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Auckland.

Osborne works across a range of media, including textiles, painting, photography and audiovisual installation. Referencing cultural and historical narratives, her work often features images of muskets, hei tiki (human figures), cloaks, feathers and other objects associated with early Māori–Pākehā trade, as does imagery drawn from the natural environment, including mountains, birds and plants.

Osbourne regularly collaborates with other artists, including costume designer Paula Collier, printmaker Alexis Neal, and her husband, Dan Mace.
