Research compiled by Luit Bieringa (1942 - 2022), art historian and former director of the Manawatu Art Gallery and the National Art Gallery, into the life and work of artist Colin McCahon (1919 - 1987).
The papers include handwritten notes by Colin McCahon on some of his artworks, study notes from McCahon's notebook, negatives and photos, ephemera, thesis notes, index cards, a recorded interview with McCahon (Department of Education, 1976), and correspondence.
