Artwork Information
We chose patterning to create the bird form sitting at the top of each of the three columns on the forecourt. When we discussed what would be the most appropriate wood carving pattern to use, we decided on pakati as it has a backbone that gives architecture to the birds' feathers. Arnold wanted to interrupt the lines in the columns and the way they were brought together. We provided sufficient interruption by creating a ruffling of each forms feathers.
