Artwork Information
The gallery's building is a waka in a literal sense as it contains all the art treasures of Auckland. The title for my work is "Te Waka Toi o Tāmaki" and contains a Māori message and the story of the gallery situated on the side of a hill called Rangipuke. Albert Park once held three pā, a spring named Waiariki and the Horotiu stream which are symbolised in the work.
