Pigs

Artwork Information

When George Morland lived at a house in Winchester Row, Paddington, he kept a veritable menagerie of animals. He was particularly fond of representing pigs, and occasionally painted portraits of himself in their company. This particular study with the fence as a background appears slightly refigured in Morning: Higglers preparing for Market (1791) and The Stable Door.
