Young Members | Artist talk: Liu Xi

Event detail
Liu Xi (born 1986) is a contemporary ceramic artist who uses clay to create intimate, often sensual sculptures that explore themes including femininity, freedom and identity. Her work Our God is Great, on show now in Forever Tomorrow: Chinese Art Now, is a composition of nine vagina-like sculptures with lace patterns that are finished in gold.
As part of our upcoming Open Late event, Liu will give a visual talk about clay and feminism, followed by a demonstration of her creative language using porcelain clay. This is a free Young Members event, and all Gallery Members welcome!
