Jesús Raphael Soto showed in the groundbreaking 1955 exhibition Le Mouvement in Paris which brought Kinetic and Op art to prominence in 20th-century practice. Exploring the illusion of movement without literally using motion, Soto’s works transform as the viewer shifts position.
