Artwork Information
Lithography, which is based on painting or drawing onto stone, was particularly suited to the Neo-Impressionist style of translating an image into a complex blend of colours, reflecting the way in which an image is initially viewed by the eye’s retina. Here Signac depicts a harbour scene bathed in evening light. (Impressions of Time and Place, 2002)
