Artwork Information
Boldrini is known only by his signed prints drawn from the designs of various artists, and was long considered the best engraver of Titian’s work. The Judgement of Paris named Venus as the most beautiful woman in the universe. The Goddess of Love, she is also the mother of Cupid (Latin Amor; Greek Eros). His presence in art usually indicates that the theme is about love, whether of a positive or negative kind. In this instance the love between mother and child. (Venus Rising, 2005)
