Artwork Information

This painting is based on a newspaper photograph from A.H.Reed's book The Kauri (1967).

It shows the largest kauri in the South Island in the grounds of the Bible College at Glen Leith in Dunedin. The tree was planted by Bishop Nevill, probably in the 1870s.
