Kate Newby (b 1979) is an Auckland-based installation artist. When the developed Auckland Art Gallery reopened in September 2011, Newby's work I'm just like a pile of leaves was one of the commissioned installations.

This box consists of material samples for 'I'm just like a pile of leaves'.

Samples include:

Coloured concrete samples from Peter Fell Ltd, Auckland, 4 x coloured concrete samples

Catalogue from Peter Fell Ltd, Auckland, 1 x coloured concrete catalogue

Concrete test samples, 2 x coloured concrete test samples numbered '1' and '4' (no. 4 was used in the Commission as it had a higher density)

Rope sample from Sailors Corner, Auckland, 1 x sample of 'final' rope used (non-fade)
