'Sound of Seeing' has been described as the first independent Aotearoa New Zealand art film. It was created in New Zealand in 1962 by film maker Tony Williams and composer Robin Maconie and screened the following year on New Zealand television.

This copy of the film was shown at Auckland Art Gallery on Thursday 28 June 1984 as part of a regular weekly season of experimental films organised by Dr Roger Horrocks.
