Feminist Art Networkers Archive

Archive Collection Detail

Feminist Art Networkers was a group of Auckland women artists and art historians formed in 1982 who advocated for the raising of the profile of art work by women and of feminist art. The collective’s actions were varied, ranging from changes to the secondary school art syllabus, letters to editors, gallery directors and curators, seminars, workshops, and the production of the 1987 New Zealand Herstory diary which featured New Zealand women artists. The two scrapbooks are of material collected by members and include minutes of meetings, correspondence, postcards, articles, programmes for seminars, posters and other publicity materials. Art work by members is also included.
