Ouroborus shows Mary-Louise Browne’s ongoing

interest in language and representation. Referencing

a mythical serpent that consumes its own tail, the title reflects the self-reflexive and cyclical relationship of this sculpture’s text. The sequence of gilded words begins with ‘Dead’. Each subsequent word is created by changing one letter: Dead becomes Head; Head becomes Herd; Herd becomes Here . . .
