Heavy greensheen

1980

Artwork Information

In 1981, when asked about how he painted in contrast to what he painted, Mcleod replied: ‘ I like paint…, using it. How I paint is more important than what I paint.’ Heavy Greensheen is a thick and heavily splattered painting. By layering on the paint until he has made a substantially weighty work, McLeod makes known his love of the medium. Influenced by de Kooning and Pollock, Mcleod has arrived at his style of painting through experimentation. (Layering on the Paint, 2000)
