Tama was Walters’ first fully realised print—and one of his finest. The white ground gives it greater definition than his earlier prints, and the placement of the image on the sheet is carefully considered. Tama was published by Auckland art dealer Peter Webb’s company Pacific Graphics, and distributed through the Print Club. The edition sold out quickly. (Gordon Walters: Prints + Designs, 2004)
