Artwork Information
This lathe for turning steel is transformed into a still life inside a factory. Its specific function as a finely tuned industrial instrument is alluded to by the geometric design on the wall. The cool tones of charcoal and grey are hugely strengthened by the contrasting effect of the background colour swatches. The textural effects are a brilliant addition to such a contemporary subject.
