Artwork Information

After studying in Paris at Andre Lhote's painting academy during 1926, Weeks spent several years working in the south of France, Italy and northern Africa. He returned to New Zealand in 1930 and taught at Elam School of Art until 1954. Lois White and John Weeks were close colleagues, engaging in long conversations about art, travel and Weeks' favourite topic, colour.
