Artwork Information
Gino Severini was an important link between French and Italian art. It was after he moved to Paris in 1906 that he moved away from a naturalistic approach to his work. This lithograph shows a meticulous attention to the arrangement of forms on a flattened plane. There are close ties to the way in which Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso used the patterns and textures of collage materials to construct still lifes.
