The artist Rebecca Swan describes the image, stating that; ‘Collision is a collaged work of two people and Merge are the same two people but combined as a sandwiched negative. It was preconceived for that shoot to be symbolic of the project. The lighting and poses were carefully copied for both people so they would line up in the final work. It was more about the collision and merging of genders so I foreground that in the title.’
