Artwork Information
This landscape is a fine example of pictorialist photography made in Auckland between World War I and II. It indicates how the shift from soft-focus to semi-sharp printing technique was perfected by Una Garlick. She was the most widely exhibited woman photographer working in Auckland from 1921 until 1930. Together with her friend and colleague Gerald Jones, Garlick was a leading camera artist of the period.
