"Portrait of a life cast of Tou Taloa (left profile, painted), Samoa" is a left profile portrait of the painted plaster life cast that Pierre-Marie Alexandre Dumoutier (1797-1871) made of the Samoan Chief Tou Taloa on the island of Upolu at Samoa during September 1838. Dumoutier was the official artist who accompanied Jules Sébastien César Dumont D'Urville's trans-Pacific voyage of 1837-1840.
