Biography
Mary Jane Walker (Minnie) arrived on the ship 'Mystery' in 1862 at Lyttleton. She was born in Kent and arrived in New Zealand at the age of 5 with her parents and two brothers. She died on the 19th of January 1942 at the age of 85 and was buried at O'Neils Point Cemetry in Bayswater.
She was a Milliner and Artist and lived in 25 Birdwood Crescent in Parnell. One of her paintings was exhibited at the Centennial Exhibition in Wellington 1940.
