Biography

Denman Wilton was born in Carterton in the Wairarapa. He worked as an assistant to Thomas Edward Price in Masterton, opening his own business there in 1895. Wilton purchased Price’s negatives in 1898 via John Minnis (another photographer to whom Price had sold his business in December 1896). The name “D. Wilton” is printed on his cabinet cards.
